Principal’s Message

Updated March 27, 2020

Dear Helen Gorman Elementary School Parent Community,

My name is Rob Aviani, and I am the new principal of Helen Gorman Elementary School. Although I am joining Helen Gorman under the most unusual of circumstances, I am thrilled to be a part of this school community.

Before Spring Break, I had the opportunity to visit the school and begin the transition process with Mrs. Ross. Your children are so wonderful and kind, and the staff is an extremely dedicated group of caring individuals. I am thankful for the warm welcome that I have received from the parents who I have met over the past couple of weeks. I am especially thankful to our PAC president Jaclyn Jaeger with whom I have been in contact by phone and email. Mrs. Jaeger has been very helpful in getting me acquainted to our school during these uncertain times. I am looking forward to the day in which we can all meet and be together at our school.

By now, you may have read the letter from our Board of Education stating that schools are not open during the first week after Spring Break (March 30th – April 3rd). The staff will be meeting virtually to plan how we can best support our students and families. Many of our staff members already have reached out to me and are eager to begin the planning process.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we tackle this unprecedented situation. I will be in touch with you early next week. At that time, I will update you on our progress. If you would like to connect with me in the meantime, please don't hesitate to contact me by email or phone.

All the best,

Rob Aviani, Principal

Helen Gorman Elementary School
