Helen Gorman Elementary encourages the development of responsibility and self-discipline in students which will result in personal rewards of self-reliance, dignity and a sense of self-worth. Part of this development stems from regular attendance and punctuality. Arriving late results in your children becoming behind in their class work and missed valuable instruction. Even a few minutes a day, adds up to substantial class time being missed over the year as well as additional teaching time lost for all students when the teacher has to re-explain what is happening for the late arrival. Please make sure your child is on time, for their benefit and for all the other students in the class as well. If there is something that the school can do to help remedy this, please let us know as we are here to support your children's learning.
