| Anona Kampe from the District's Indigenous Education Department visited our students today. Ms. Kampe shared an important story from the oral history of Syilx (Okanagan) people called the Four Food Chiefs. The Four Chiefs were: Bear, Salmon, Bitterroot and Saskatoon Berry. The story of the food chiefs helps students learn about the Syilx beliefs of respect, personal awareness, and conservation.
